BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the principal or principal, educate students with special needs in the classroom, individually or in small groups, in accordance with Shasta County Office of Education policies and procedures. design, implement and evaluate learning programs and activities; develop and implement IEP goals and assess student progress and achievement. Coordinates programs to improve independence and functioning in society, socially, professionally and academically.
DUTIES OF THE AGENT:
BASIC TASKS:
- Teach students with special needs individually or in small groups according to IEP goals. Monitoring and evaluating student needs and progress.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, classroom activities, and techniques to meet the needs of assigned students.
- Teaching independent living and social skills according to defined tasks. Use behavioral intervention techniques as needed.
- Assess the needs of exceptional students. design, change, and implement appropriate instructional programs; Provide special educational activities to students with special needs that establish, maintain, and reinforce appropriate interpersonal and learning behaviors.
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings. providing information about student progress and achievement; Work with other staff to develop and implement IEP goals;
- Ensuring students' personal hygiene, including toileting, diapering, feeding and grooming. administer medication as needed. teaching self-help skills related to personal hygiene; mediating recreation and leisure skills by position;
- Conduct specific physical health care procedures in accordance with established procedures by: handling and instructing students and staff in the use of various student mobility aids. Pick up and place students.
- Design and implement curricula and lesson plans for classroom, individual and small group instruction. schedule teaching hours; assess student progress and achievement; teach different subjects and use special techniques and software when necessary. Keeping relevant records.

- Develop, implement, and modify curriculum in assigned departments according to student needs, industry standards, and established guidelines. Consider state academic standards and policies, as well as expected student outcomes and current subject standards.
- Monitoring and managing student behavior in the classroom according to approved procedures. assesses students' abilities and progress; report progress in student performance and behavior according to established guidelines.
- Identify student needs and work with other staff to identify and meet student needs.
- Training students with special needs in individual tasks to implement and achieve IEP goals. Ensuring the proper implementation of student goals by trained individuals in accordance with the IEP.
- Depending on the assignment, you participate as a member of the interdisciplinary IEP team. attend IEP meetings and contribute to meeting goals; conduct scheduled assessments; Prepare feedback reports and communicate with district IEPs and agencies.
- Design and implement appropriate behavior management plans, techniques, and classroom management plans to use for instructional and disciplinary purposes.
- Participation in various task forces and project committees. Participate in faculty and staff meetings and other professional development programs.
