I know how difficult it can be to find the perfect shed for your next garden project.
There are so many different plans that it can be a bit confusing.
To help you make the right choice I have compiled 31 photos of some really great shed ideas to help you make the right decision whether you are looking for a workshop, a place to dry your firewood keep, or just neat storage space and dry. for your recycle bin These ideas may not be the bestpractical, but they have a cool factor.
1. The public bicycle storage room
Large outdoor space for more than bikes
While this simple outdoor shed was originally built to provide secure storage outside of rain bike storage, there's no reason you couldn't adapt it to hold firewood, hay, or whatever else you need to stay relatively dry.
The flat roof and multi-post construction can handle heavy snow loads, while the open-air construction provides plenty of ventilation.
2. The 100% organic stable
Just as Mother Nature intended
This looks very similar to the thatched huts in Africa or in the Middle Ages. The pitched thatched roof is fully waterproof and the open sides make it an ideal place to store firewood during your downtime.
You can source all of your materials locally, making the 100% organic design very affordable. These sheds are pretty easy to build.
3. Sheds that blend in
Nobody ever said your dandruff has to be visible.
If you're looking for an "invisible" shed that blends into your garden design rather than sticking out like a sore thumb, it's not that difficult to match your shed to its surroundings.
If you are lucky enough to have a small mound in your yard, you can set the hedge against it and cover it with vines like honeysuckle and surround it with shrubs. In a year or two, hardly anyone will be able to say that it exists.
4. Thatched shelter
Another proof that Mother Nature takes care of them
Straw was used as impregnation.covering materialsince centuries.
If you want a shed that will keep everything dry but is completely biodegradable and eco-friendly, consider building a wooden shed like this one and then adding a thatched roof.
Not only will you be amazed at how affordable this type of shed is, but also how amazing it will look in your yard.
5. A 360 degree view around the shed
Nobody said your shed has to be square or rectangular.
Dandruff seems to come in all shapes and sizes.sizes, but the vast majority appear to be square or rectangular. Why not do something completely different and build a round shed?
You can store almost anything in a round shed; In fact, you might find that some things are easier to pack in one. Your neighbors will also laugh a lot about your choice.
6. The country style barn
Old school looks like new school security
If you are lucky enough to have trees on your property that need to be felled, you have the perfect material for this type of shed.
You can use whole or split logs for the walls and then shingles for the roof, giving your shed a totally rustic look and saving you money over using materials that would otherwise end up in the wood stove or pile up.
7. The inverted boat
Hello friend!
Have you seen how many ships are scrapped when they no longer work? This special shed takes the hull of a ship and flips it over.
Talk about a well-sealed waterproof roof. All you have to do is add a door to the transom (rear end of the fuselage) and the necessary windows. What a great way to repurpose a discarded boat.
8. Ein Autokino
incoming cruise
More like a detached garage than a shed, adding a garage door and ramp to your garden shed can create the perfect driveway shed.
This has more than enough space for your lawn mower, bikes, motorcycles and more. The solid design features plenty of windows on one wall for when you need to work in your shed and a standard roller shutter door for added security.
9. The modern camp
Easy to build design
Actually, a shed does not have to be fancy. This contemporary design features a unique sloping roof that contrasts with the front door and solid wood paneling for added security.
You can add a sliding door with a padlockSecurityor a chute if you only store your garden tools in it. This type of shed can be placed anywhere and completed in a weekend.
10. The straw shed
More than the cowardly lion makes a great shed wall
While you won't see many thatched buildings or sheds here in the US, you'd be surprised at how many other countries consider straw to be the perfect building material.
Formed into bales or blocks, straw is not only weatherproof, but can also insulate very well. With a tin or thatched roof, your thatched shed can be used to store firewood, garden tools and many other items at a very low cost.
11. The big thatched roof
Once again, natural materials are used to win.
If you haven't noticed a trend yet, let me explain. Straw is a natural material and can be used in the construction of virtually any type of shed.
This particular design includes a large roof and very short walls. It may look like it belongs on Gilligan's Island, but it provides a great place to store firewood, hay, and many other items. The massive ceiling will amaze everyone who sees it.
12. The Smurfscale
This shed is small but nice.
Add a quaint touch to your yard by creating a small shed out of a variety of materials. Consider using whatever you have on hand for the walls, wood, brick, and logs, then add a thatched roof.
Add a panel door and a window or two and you have the perfect place to get away from it all or store your favorite gardening tools.
13. The phone booth
When was the last time you saw one like this?
Most of us can barely remember what a phone booth looks like, but if you look around long enough you can still find them in junkyards across the country.
Not only were these a nice dry place to shelter from the rain when you needed to make a call, they were also a great place to keep a small supply of dry firewood or your most used gardening tools sheltered from the weather.
What a brilliant way to repurpose an old item into something very useful.
14. Tall buildings
Multi-level storage allows you to hang more things
If a single-story shed doesn't give you enough space to store all your junk, consider a multi-story unit.
Shown in this photo is an old farmhouse with three levels, each with a cargo door that was once operated by a winch. On the ground floor you can park your quad, motorbike, lawn mower or bicycle, the second floor can be used as a workshop and the third floor can be used as a storage room.
15. Storage of choo choo pull rolls
Take away storage shed, this one is on wheels.
Railroads have used roller sheds for practically forever. These sheds have wheels that allow the railroad to move them to where they are needed.
While your shed doesn't have to be that big, if you're not sure where to put it or you need it in different spots in your yard year-round, consider building it on wheels.
16. Das Crayon Shed Pack
Like a pack of crayons, this row of scales is so colourful.
So who said you have to stop at a shed? Why not build a series of colorful sheds for you and your family? So everyone can have their own shed or you can have a different color shed for whatever type of storage you need.
Blue for the bike, green for the garden tools, red for the family bikes, etc. They are sure to beautify your yard and neighborhood.
17. Create your own wine room
Create your own outdoor wine cellar
While most basements are underground since that's much easier to maintain a constant temperature, no one says that's the only place to build one.
You can build a small wooden shed like this that will do the same job. Remember to insulate the walls and ceiling well to stabilize the temperature.
Wine shops work best in the dark, so windows are not needed; Instead focus on finding a shady spot for your shed and add heating/cooling.
18. Inside out
Bring the outside world in
If you have large gadgets to store and work with, this outdoor plan might be just what you need.
By adding oversized doors at both ends, you make it easier for larger vehicles or equipment to get in and out of your shed when it needs repairs.
You can also build this shed without doors if you prefer easier access.
19. Senfgelb
The sloping roof and the wild colors make a great garden house.
Your garden shed doesn't have to be boring, most great sheds are bright and colourful. While this one is mustard yellow, you can choose another cool color to make your shed a focal point in your garden.
Add a window or two and a single French door to create a garden workshop for your favorite projects or a pool house.
20. Best Friends
Why have one shed when two is a better deal?
So he started with a single shed, thinking it would give him all the storage space he needed and soon found that it wasn't enough. Instead of going out and building a much larger shed, why not build a second shed of a similar size?
You can build them side by side or facing each other. You can even create a screened porch or walkway to tie them together. The possibilities are as endless as the pile of junk you need to store.
21. Toys
You can never have enough scales
If your family is anything like mine, you'll never run out of external storage. As long as your local codes allow and your neighbors aren't likely to complain, you can build a shed for each family member.
You can also build several of these small sheds to meet different needs like storage, art studios, and workshops.
22. The Chapel of the Forest
Bring life into your garden
This impressive shed designed to look like a miniature woodland chapel complete with a mini signal tower will look great amongst the trees in any garden.

23. The piece of cake
It looks like a slice of ice cream cake but is super strong.
If you're like me, you want your shed to be a little different than the average shed that everyone in your neighborhood already has in their yard.
This little beauty has strong brick walls and a flat roof. You can build it with adobe bricks or cinder blocks depending on where you live.
Not only is this design perfect for storing your valuables, but hiding beneath the cake-like color is the perfect storm shelter for you and your family.
24. Photo Frame
Why not create a custom shed?
Just because your shed has four walls doesn't mean they have to be empty. If you look at some of the cool sheds in these pictures, you'll see that the coolest ones are hand decorated.
Regardless of the size or shape of your shed, at least 2-3 of the walls will provide a great canvas to work on customizing your shed. Add a single mural or a series of paintings to fully personalize your shed.
25. The White Christmas
Strong enough for a sled to land
If you live in an area that tends to get a lot of snow, you need a garden shed that can withstand the snow load. That means having a pitched roof to make it easier for snow to slide off, and plenty of trusses to support the weight.
If you're unsure how to adjust the snow load, you should speak to a local contractor or two as they can help you determine the thickness of your shed's roof.
26. A man's trash
It's another man's treasure.
If you're like most men, and I am, you probably have a lot of "junk" that your wife doesn't want in your house or garage. Why not build a safe little shed like this just for you?
Create your own storage unit, workshop, man cave or even better a combination of all three. Park near or behind the garage and cover it with "old" signs for the effect. Just make sure you put a good lock on both sides of the door.
27. The guest shed
Perfect for your mother in law.
The last time you had a family visit, they turned the living room into a bedroom and brought your whole world to a halt. Why not build a tiny house in the backyard just for them?
This beautiful shed accommodates a bed, table and chairs and a few other amenities and is the perfect place for your mother-in-law or any other guest to stay for a few days at a time. They even have a balcony to sit outside at night where your guests aren't walking around all the time.
28. The Combo Shed
Sticks and stones do more than break bones
One of the most inexpensive ways to build cool sheds is to use the many materials you probably already have on your property.
Rather than creating a pesky pile of rocks when you clear your property or dig up those gardens, use the rocks, some cement, and driftwood to create a garden shed that is not only pleasing to the eye but will provide years of enjoyable storage . .
29. The picnic shed
The perfect retreat in your garden
Add a patio to your shed and create the perfect spot for your next family vacation. In this spacious shed you can store all your garden furniture, your barbecue and many other items and take them out again when needed.
Add a few amenities and you have the perfect place to stay when you need to get away from it all and can't leave the house.
30. The family house
it's bigger inside
Be sure to check local codes first, but then you can build a shed that even as a small house comes with most if not all of the amenities and will provide your family with a comfortable place to stay when they come to visit.
Just make sure you time their stay or you might never get rid of them. Tiny houses are all the rage and are a great place to stay while you build your home or as the perfect retreat when you need a break. do you see thatShed builder's website here
31. Playhouse
Not just for kids
Most children love to play house, especially when they are little. This little shed feels like home and you can spend the first few years of your life entertaining your kids.
Once the kids grow up, you can turn the playhouse into one of the coolest sheds in your neighborhood by putting a lock on the door. The unique thing about it is that you can reuse the house and avoid building another shed.
Just a sampling of the cool sheds I've seen
This is just a selection of dozens of totally cool sheds I've found while searching for the perfect shed for my backyard.
